In this guide

The Yard design runs a consignment auction: sellers send you a request from the Sell page, you collect, weigh and list the lot, approved buyersbid, and the winner pays you. Built for scrap-metal yards, recyclers, surplus and salvage dealers, used-machinery and e-waste traders — every word on it is editable, so any business that sells on someone's behalf can use it.

Sellers — the Sell page

1

Decide what the form asks

In the editor open the Sell page → Sell Request Form. Add, remove or reorder the questions (name, phone, business, city, material, quantity, details, a photo). Mark the ones you need as required.

2

Requests land in two places

Every sell request goes to Form Inbox like any enquiry, and the newest also show at the bottom of Auctions as Sell requests — name, phone, what they have and where, with the photo they attached. Call them, agree pickup or drop-off, weigh the material.

3

List the lot

Products → add a product → switch on Auction / Bidding. Put the weighbridge numbers in Specifications using plain keys — Material, Grade, Weight, Quantity, Location, Pickup. The lot card and the lot page read those rows as Lot facts.

4

Record the seller and your commission

In the auction block fill Seller & commission— the seller's name and phone and the percentage you agreed. After the sale, Auctions shows owe the seller ₹X after ₹Y commission. Pay them the way you always do, then tap Mark settled with seller. It is a note for your records — the platform never moves that money.

Sell requests never cost you a lead fee — this is a store design, and store designs are billed on orders only.

Buyers — approval before bidding

1

Turn on approval

Auctions → Who can bid on your auctions → Approved members only. Your website stays public: anyone can browse the lots. Bidding is what waits for you.

2

What a new buyer sees

A lot page shows Register to bid. The buyer signs in with their phone (one-time code) and is parked as pending. If they try to bid, the page tells them their registration is with the yard for approval.

3

Approve or block

New bidders appear under Manage → Members Access with an Approve button, and you get the usual new access request notification. The page says “OFF — public site · bidder approval ON” so you can see at a glance that the site is open but bidding is not. Approved buyers bid immediately; blocked ones never can.

Want everyone to bid without approval? Switch the setting back to Everyone. Buyers you already approved stay approved.

The homepage, section by section

  • Hero — headline, the two path cards (Sell / Buy), three sample stats to replace with yours, and the animated yard illustration (switch it off if you prefer).
  • Live Now Rail, Ending Soon, Upcoming Lots, Recent Results — fill themselves from your auction lots.
  • Sell in 3 Steps and How Bidding Works — illustrated, every line editable.
  • Materials — your own list with an icon each, or automatically your product categories.
  • Indicative Rate Board — optional. Type rows (material, rate, unit, trend). Leave it empty and the section stays hidden. The auction decides the real price.
  • Buy Outright Strip — lots that carry a Buy Now price, for buyers who do not want to wait for the close.
  • Trust Strip, About the Yard, Sellers & Buyers Say, FAQ, Sell Band, Lot Alerts.

Common questions

Can sellers log in and see their lots? Not in this version — you are their contact, and the Auctions page keeps the seller and what you owe them on every lot.

Can buyers bid per kilo? Bids are on the whole lot. Put the weight in Lot facts so buyers work out their own rate.

Does it work for machinery, e-waste or surplus stock? Yes — rename the materials, the vocabulary and the Sell form questions. Nothing is tied to metal.
