In this guide

When shoppers see cash on delivery, how you confirm an order, and how the courier's money comes back to you through its statement — matched line by line, to the paisa, before anything counts as received.

When shoppers see it

Cash on delivery appears at checkout only when all of these hold: you switched it on in your terms, the approvals for it are recorded for your network, you have a courier account switched on, the order is not above your limit, the PIN is not one you blocked, the shopper has fewer than 2 cash-on-delivery orders still open in that store, the reseller has fewer open than your limit, and the shopper's mobile number is Indian. The shopper types a one-time code sent to their mobile before the order is placed.

If you set a cash-on-delivery fee, it is a separate line on the bill.

Confirming orders

Open Supplier console → Orders and switch to Cash on delivery. New orders wait under Cash-on-delivery orders to confirm — phone the shopper, then press Confirm (you can send it now) or Decline with a reason (the order is cancelled and its items go back to stock; nothing was paid, so nothing is refunded). An order nobody confirms is cancelled by itself after the hours in your terms. Your Today counts the orders waiting for your OK.

A cash-on-delivery order goes in one parcel, and the courier collects exactly what its bill says.

Courier statements and your bank

When the courier pays you, it sends a statement file.

1

Name the statement

Type the courier's name and the statement number, and choose the file (CSV).
2

Say which columns are which

The first time for a courier, pick the columns that hold the tracking number and the cash (and, if the file has them, the courier's fee and the tax on it). They are kept for that courier.
3

Upload

Each line is matched to your parcels: Matched, Less than due, More than due, On another statement or Not your parcel. Every line that does not match opens an item in Needs attention. The same file again is the same statement; a different file under the same number is refused.
4

Type the bank credit

Open the statement and type the bank credit you received: the amount, the bank reference and the date. Only an amount equal to the statement (cash − fees − tax on fees) to the paisa matches; otherwise the screen shows the difference and nothing is recorded as received.

A statement of three parcels

Cash collected (3 parcels)
₹4,200
Courier's fee
₹120
Tax on the fee (18 %)
₹21.60
What must reach your bank for the statement to match
₹4,058.40
₹4,058 or ₹4,059 does not match — the screen shows the difference and records nothing.

Once matched, each matched parcel's cash counts as received: the reseller's commission on it can become ready, and a refund for goods returned after delivery opens (you send it from your bank to where the shopper tells you).

A delivered parcel whose cash is on no matched statement after the days in your terms opens an item in Needs attention. If many of a reseller's cash-on-delivery parcels come back, cash on delivery switches off in their stores and an item tells you; close that item to switch it on again.

Example · Sunil, Indore — sells in twelve resellers' stores

Every Monday Sunil uploads the courier's weekly statement. Two lines show Less than due — the courier collected ₹50 short on each; both open under Needs attention and he raises them with the courier. The rest match, the bank credit matches to the paisa, and the commission on those parcels moves to Ready for his resellers.
The courier's money goes to your own bank; the statement and the bank credit are how the screen knows it arrived. Nothing is marked received by a guess.
