Billing Counter is the fastest way to bill customers at your restaurant — tap dishes, take payment, and the bill prints instantly. Two taps from dish to printed GST bill. It works on a computer at the counter and fully on your phone: an Android phone + a small Bluetooth thermal printer is a complete POS machine, no separate billing software needed.

Open it

  • Dashboard → Billing Counter (restaurant websites only) — on a phone it is the Billing cell in the bar at the bottom, right after Overview.
  • The counter takes the full screen — no sidebar, no bottom bar, so billing gets every pixel. Its own slim top bar carries Restaurant, Tables and Orders links, plus Recent and ⚙ Settings.
  • The top bar also shows Today — today's sales and number of orders so far (counter, tables and website together) — and an Online paused mark while your website is not taking orders.
  • Staff can use it too: anyone you have given Food orders & billing access on the Team page (that is what the orders permission is called on a restaurant website).

Billing an order

1

Tap dishes

Dishes show with photo, price and veg/non-veg mark. Tap to add; tap again for one more. Dishes with Half/Full or size options show a quick picker. Use the search box for name or item code — on a computer it stays focused, so you can just type.
2

Pick the channel

Dine-in (tap the table number), Takeaway, or Delivery (address + your delivery charge). Walk-in customers need no phone number — add one only if you want the sale on their history. A Note for kitchen line (less spicy, no onion…) goes on the kitchen ticket.
3

Regular customer? Just type the phone

Tap + Customer — a small window opens. Start typing the phone number and matching saved customers appear right under the box with their order count and wallet balance. Tap one (or finish the 10 digits) and the name fills in by itself. This works on every channel — dine-in, takeaway and delivery. A green card shows who they are (“Regular · 12 orders · ₹4,500 spent”) and their last order with an ↻ Add again button — one tap re-bills their usual at today's prices (anything off the menu or out of stock is skipped, never substituted). On Delivery, their saved addresses show as one-tap chips — no re-typing the full address for a repeat customer. Once an address is picked it folds into one green line (tap Change to edit), so the bill items always stay in view. Switching to Delivery opens the phone box automatically.
4

Save & Print

After saving, the bill shows on screen with Print / KOT / WhatsApp options right there. Pick Cash / UPI / Card (or Pay later for a running tab) and hit Save & Print. The order saves, stock updates, the GST bill generates and prints — all in one tap. UPI shows a QR with the exact amount for the customer to scan.

Printing setup (one time)

  • On Android: install the free RawBT app from the Play Store and connect your thermal printer (Bluetooth/USB) in it once. The counter then prints silently in about a second — exactly like a POS machine.
  • On a computer: bills print through the browser's print dialog, using the exact same razor-sharp bill image as the Invoices page — so a bill printed at the counter and the same bill printed from Invoices come out identical. Tip: launching Chrome with --kiosk-printing makes it one-click with no dialog. If your printer is plugged in by USB, pick Thermal via USB/Serial in ⚙ Settings for true POS output with automatic cuts.
  • Rather print only when you ask? Pick Don't print automatically — the bill still shows on screen with its print buttons.
  • Change the mode anytime from ⚙ Settings on the counter's top bar — the print mode is saved on that phone or computer.
Bills print only when auto-billing is on (Invoices → Settings → Auto-generate). The counter reminds you if it's off.

Dine-in tables, rounds & KOT

  • KOT (kitchen copy): turn on Kitchen copy (KOT) with every bill in ⚙ Settings — a restaurant-wide owner setting. Every dine-in/takeaway sale prints the customer bill AND a kitchen ticket (dishes only, no prices, daily KOT number) in ONE go, with the printer cutting between them — exactly like the big POS machines. The kitchen copy keeps its own large, easy-to-read type; only the customer bill uses the receipt design you picked in Invoice Settings. Every ticket you fire is saved with its KOT number, so Recent → View bill can reprint it later — even after you close and reopen the counter — and the same ticket can be reprinted from Invoices with the Kitchen copy button.
  • Running tables: on Restaurant → Tables & QR, tap a free table to start its bill, or an occupied table's Details to see every order on it (guest QR orders included). + Add round puts more dishes on the same bill — the kitchen gets a KOT for just the new round, and the guest still gets ONE bill at the end.
  • Areas: give tables an area name (like "Dining AC" or "Open") when editing them — the live board groups by area, just like a floor plan.
  • Settle: mark the table's orders paid (from the order or the counter), then Settle frees the table. Settling never touches money — it's bookkeeping.

Good to know

  • Serving time and stock are honoured — off-hours dishes show dimmed with their timing chip, out-of-stock dishes go grey with an OUT tag, and tapping either asks first ("Add anyway?"). Owners also get one-tap Mark in stock & add. Confirm once and that dish adds freely for the rest of the session.
  • Hold parks a half-made bill (customer stepped away) — resume it from the amber strip.
  • Recent lists every counter bill from any device, newest first, with an unpaid mark on pay-later bills — View bill shows and reprints it right there, Details opens the full order.
  • Restaurant home shows where today's orders came from — under today's sales, a line counts them: Counter, Table QR, Online and Manual.
  • Not GST-registered? The counter offers a one-tap cash memo setup — bills print with no GST lines.
  • A half-made bill survives closing the page — it's waiting when you come back.
  • Discounts: tap + Discount for a ₹ or % reduction — it shows on the bill and GST is calculated on the reduced amount.

  • Counter orders appear in Orders like any other order and count in your sales reports. Coupons and loyalty points don't apply to counter sales (those are for your online customers).
  • For delivery orders with couriers, charges lists, or cloning an old order, use the full Orders → New order form — the counter links to it.
