What you actually do, step by step — most owners finish this from a phone.

Verify the pickup code

The renter shows the 6-character code from their booking page; a wrong code stops the handover (override recorded).

Record the vehicle's state

Front, back, sides, odometer, fuel gauge — six quick photos from your phone; odometer and fuel typed in.

Collect and hand over

Balance and deposit recorded with the method (cash, UPI, card); the booking becomes 'on the road' and the renter sees the vehicle papers you chose to share.

Return and settle

Same photos and readings on return; late minutes and extra km become suggested lines; settlement applies the deposit and shows the refund or the extra due.

What if the renter never shows the code?

You can override the code check after verifying the person — the override is recorded on the booking.

Can I add a damage charge later?

Yes, with photos and an amount; the renter is nudged with a pay link, and the deposit is applied first at settlement.
