Security deposits tracked to the rupee — collected, adjusted against charges, refunded with a full trail.

The refundable deposit is never treated as revenue: it is never taxed, never charged a platform fee and always tracked separately from the rental money. At settlement the pending charges (late return, extra km, damage, fuel, lost accessories, challans) are applied to the deposit and the page shows exactly what to refund or what the renter still owes. Refunds are recorded when you pay them out — you keep the money and the control.

How it works

What you actually do, step by step — most owners finish this from a phone.

Set a deposit per model

₹1,000 for a scooter, ₹5,000 for a bike — shown to the renter before booking, collected at pickup or online with the advance.

Charges arrive as pending lines

Suggested late/extra-km lines plus anything you add (damage with photos, fuel, challan) — each confirmed, edited or waived by you.

Settle

Charges minus deposit = refund due or extra due, computed for you; mark the refund paid with the method, or send a pay link for the balance.

Invoice the extras

A separate GST invoice for collected charges when you want one — never automatic.

What's included

Deposit online is optional: bundle it with the advance through your gateway, or collect at pickup and record it.
Charge types: late return, extra km, damage, fuel, add-on loss, challan, other — with photos.
Cancellation refunds follow time slabs you set (free until X days, then 75%, then 50%…) and are previewed to the renter before they confirm.
GST is 18% inclusive on rentals by default (SAC 9966 family), adjustable per model; deposits are excluded from every invoice.

Is the deposit taxed?

No. It is not consideration for a service — it is never on an invoice and never charged a platform fee.

The damage costs more than the deposit — what happens?

Settlement shows the extra due; the renter can pay it from their booking page or at the shop, and the charge stays open until collected.
